Janna Nickerson was born March 4th, 1988 and currently resides in Missoula, Montana.
As a freshman in high school, Janna had the opportunity to spend three weeks in Australia with her mother and grandmother. As a junior, she was selected for the China Initiative and spent three weeks in Chengdu and Beijing, China where she lived with a Chinese family. In addition to overseas travel and travel throughout much of the United States, Janna spends a few weeks each summer at her grandparents’ cabin in Minnesota. These travel experiences and living in four different states have provided Janna with numerous opportunities to meet diverse people with different cultures and backgrounds. All these experiences have provided bits and pieces of ideas for writing.
Janna has been an avid reader of fantasy as well as history for years. Her keen interest in ancient cultures has given her inspirations for her fantasy writing. When she’s not reading fantasy novels, she’s reading history books!
Janna Nickerson began writing Eyes of War at the age of 13 and finished the first draft at 15. She then spent two years editing. The second book in her Fifth Battle Trilogy, Faces of Sorrow, is now available to order. She's working on the final book in the Fifth Battle Trilogy.
She graduated from the University of Montana in 2009 with high honors and a degree in Anthropology. She is a 2006 graduate of Hellgate High School in Missoula, Montana.
By June 2007, Janna had presented to nearly 5,000 5th-12th grade students about her book. She was the featured author luncheon speaker at the 2006 Montana Library Association, an invited speaker to the Leavenworth, WA writing camp for young girls and an invited speaker at the 2006 Montana Festival of the Book.
In 2008, she went to schools across the West, including schools in CA, OR, WA, MT, CO, WY, NM, AZ, and UT. She spoke at almost 50 schools, reaching more than seven thousand students from 5th to 8th grade. Today, she has sold more than 5,200 copies of her book.
